The Inner Foundation invests in EsterCare: Advancing integrated women's health and mental health

At The Inner Foundation, we are proud to announce our investment in EsterCare, a pioneering health tech company that is reshaping women’s healthcare through its innovative digiphysical model. By seamlessly combining digital, physical, and preventive care services, EsterCare is committed to improving women’s well-being across every stage of life—from menstrual health to menopause—while also recognizing the critical interconnection between physical and mental health.

What does EsterCare offer?

EsterCare is a comprehensive female healthcare provider committed to enhancing women’s health through an integrated digiphysical model that seamlessly blends digital and in-person care with preventive health services. Founded by sisters Lydia Graflund and Dr. Helena Graflund Lagercrantz, EsterCare offers accessible, high-quality care tailored to the diverse needs of women.

Since launching its first brick-and-mortar gynecology clinic at Torsplan in 2021, EsterCare has since the get-go offered digital services to complement in-person care. Today, its services include video consultations, health screenings, and preventive care resources, ensuring that women receive personalized, continuous support—whether they visit a physical clinic or connect through digital platforms. This hybrid approach not only enhances convenience but also empowers women to take control of their health at every stage of life.

The investment round

This investment round raised a total of 8 million SEK and brought together several forward-thinking investors, including Impact Invest, Vera Invest, and a range of established angel investors. At The Inner Foundation, we believe that co-investment is a powerful tool for driving sustainable progress—especially in sectors that have historically been underinvested. By pooling resources and expertise, we are proud to support the continued growth and scalability of innovative healthcare solutions that ensure every facet of women's health is recognized, supported, and fully integrated into everyday care.

At The Inner Foundation, we understand that the well-being of women extends beyond addressing physical symptoms alone. The inseparable connection between physical health and mental well-being is at the heart of our investment philosophy. We see the integrated care model adopted by EsterCare as a crucial step toward transforming healthcare delivery for women. By ensuring that both physical and mental health needs are met in a coordinated, accessible manner, we aim to contribute to healthier workplaces, enhanced productivity, and a more equitable society overall.

Annika Sten Pärson, Executive Chair and Founding Partner of The Inner Foundation, explains:

"Women's health, and especially the critical connection between physical and mental health, has long been underprioritized. Mental health is a central part of The Inner Foundation's work, and we see how EsterCare is changing this by integrating digital and physical care to create a more accessible and inclusive support system throughout life. Investing in women's health is crucial for more equitable care, and we are proud to support EsterCare in their work to drive this change."

Lydia Graflund, CEO of EsterCare, adds:

"Partnering with The Inner Foundation and our co-investors reinforces our mission to deliver seamless, comprehensive care for women. Our model addresses both the emotional and physical dimensions of health, ensuring that women receive the complete support they need. With this investment and the strengthened governance of our board, we are well-positioned to scale our impact and bring accessible, high-quality care to more women."

Looking ahead

EsterCare’s innovative approach—balancing in-person consultations with scalable digital health services and preventive care—has demonstrated robust market traction. The company’s recent performance shows steady revenue growth and strong engagement from both individual patients and corporate partners, underscoring the market’s appetite for comprehensive women's healthcare solutions. Early indicators point to significant improvements in patient satisfaction and reduced wait times through digital channels, while corporate partnerships are already yielding measurable benefits such as decreased absenteeism and enhanced employee well-being.

This dual strategy builds trust through direct patient interactions and leverages scalable digital solutions to extend high-quality, integrated care to a broader audience. In addressing longstanding gaps in women’s health, we recognize an opportunity valued at $1 trillion, as identified by the McKinsey Health Institute and the World Economic Forum. Our investment in EsterCare reinforces our commitment to this vision. Investing in women’s health is essential for fostering sustainable workplaces and a more equitable society, and we are excited to support EsterCare as they continue to drive meaningful change in women’s health.
