The challenge
Young people across the UK are facing escalating climate anxiety, burnout, and a sense of helplessness in the face of the climate crisis. Despite their passion and commitment, many lack the mental and emotional support needed to sustain their activism and well-being. Traditional support systems often fail to address the unique psychological toll that climate change imposes on youth, leaving them vulnerable to stress and disillusionment.
Turning challenge into opportunity
The Resilience Project exists to change that. As a youth-led initiative, we offer programmes designed specifically to support the emotional resilience of young people engaged in climate activism. Through Resilience Circles, residential retreats, workshops, and peer-led community spaces, we create environments where young people can connect, reflect, and build inner strength — together.
Their approach integrates climate psychology with collective care, enabling youth to navigate their emotions, avoid burnout, and find sustainable ways to stay involved. By fostering supportive networks and normalizing emotional conversations around the climate crisis, The Resilience Project empowers young people to transform anxiety into agency, and isolation into belonging—laying the foundation for long-term, life-affirming climate action.
